This is a nice easy scenic road to ride with a few twists & turns. Road code is No 136 , starts in Taiping Taichung city and takes you to the No 14 where you can continue to Puli and Sun Moon Lake. A lot of fun for a day ride or stay over at Sun Moon Lake at a cheap BnB at Ita Tao village ( where the cable car/rope way is situated) and ride back to Taichung via the No 129 the next day. There are a lot of scenic spots along the way and even more tasty treats - fried mushrooms in Xinshe for instance.
Tip: A cruise on Sun Moon Lake costs only NT 200 or so and well worth the money.
The bike I use for Taiwan travels 125cc...good enough
